How To Boost Your Profits:
5 Tips To Selling Disposable Vapes

Disposables vapes are one of the fastest growing – and best selling – vape products on the UK market. Disposables are low cost, low maintenance and work straight out of the box.

They’re also lightweight, fit easily into your pocket and they pack lots of nicotine in countless mouth-watering flavours. They’re ideal for helping smokers make the switch away from harmful cigarettes.

Are you struggling to sell your disposable vapes?

Despite these great selling points, many retailers are still struggling to sell them. Like many products in retail, disposables vapes are FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) products, with a fast-moving supply chain and a short product life. They bring customers back for more – as long as they’re happy with the product.

As both a retailer and a wholesale supplier, Eco-Vape is uniquely placed to understand what makes a retailer successful when selling disposables. With over 20 of our own retail stores, we have years of experience in how to sell disposable vapes effectively.

To boost your disposable vape sales, you’ll need a combination of five simple steps that when combined become really effective.

Here are our top 5 tips to get your disposables flying off the shelves!

How Can I Boost My Disposable Vape Sales?

1. Compliance Is King

Besides offering a quality product, the most important part of selling disposable vapes is making sure they’re compliant. Trading Standards have been removing unlisted disposable vapes from shelves across England and Scotland over recent months.

It goes without saying that having your products taken off the shelves is not a good way to boost profits, so make sure you get your disposables from a trusted supplier like Eco-Vape.

We sell the Hyppe Maxx and Flerbar disposable vapes, as well as the Buzz Bar, all of which are listed with the MHRA and are fully TPD compliant (the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive).

Disposable Vapes Must:
  • Be registered with the relevant UK authorities.
  • Be tested by a third party as required by the regulations.
  • Be listed with the MHRA with an ECID (available on the official MHRA website – you can also check using the Vape Click website).

2. Marketing Matters

If customers don’t know about a product, they won’t buy it. It’s essential you put up POS (point of sale) posters, marketing material, and prices that catch the eyes of potential customers.

If you shop with Eco-Vape, as standard our in-house design team will provide you with POS materials for all our disposable vape ranges, e-liquids, nic salts, shortfills, hardware, and accessories.

We can also provide your store with a disposable vape recycling stand, where customers are encouraged to return back to the store to get rid of their dead disposable vapes and buy new ones.

That’s great for profits as it encourages returning customers, but it’s even better for the environment as it keeps lithium batteries from ending up in landfills.

Use effective POS (posters, pricing stickers, product stands) in your shop.

Make your disposable vapes as visible as possible. Counter space is at a premium, so if you have the room we recommend that you place the products in their stand on the counter, right in front of the customer view.

If you don’t have the space, put them at eye level as close to the counter as possible, always in view of the customer.

It’s also essential that the price is clear and visible, and POS marketing takes up very little counter space. Eco-Vape provides wholesale customers with a range of pricing stickers upon request, allowing you to choose your ideal RRP.

This allows customers to hold and interact with the product and immediately see the price. Then, you can introduce them to the unique selling points mentioned before like ease of use, flavour, and price.

Add a poster outside your shop door. Customers will have seen the product before even entering the shop, making it easier to introduce it to them.

3. Understand The Product

If you don’t understand the product and its selling points, you won’t be able to market it to your customers.

Disposable vapes aren’t complicated. Eco-Vape has been working with disposables and suppliers since they hit the market in the UK. We work with our retailers to help them understand what the unique selling points of disposables are and how they work.

What Are Disposable Vapes & How Do They Work?

They are essentially a plastic case that holds a battery, coil, cotton, and e-liquid. The battery powers the coil, which is surrounded by cotton saturated with e-liquid. When powered (by taking a draw), the battery heats the coil which vapourises the e-liquid. That’s it.

They typically hold up to 2ml of e-liquid, provide up to ~600 puffs, and are usually powered with a 500 mAh internal battery. Normally, disposable vapes contain 20mg of nicotine salt, the maximum legal limit allowed in the UK.

What Are The Selling Points Of Disposable Vapes?

Disposable vapes have a lot of selling points. First and foremost, they are low-cost tools to help smokers find an alternative to harmful cigarettes. They’re also very easy to use.

Here are five selling points you should know when selling disposable e-cigs:

  • Easy to use – they work straight out of the box with no set-up or maintenance required. Simply recycle the device when it runs out of juice or power.
  • Incredible flavours – they pack a lot of flavour in a small device. With hundreds of flavours on the market, there’s something for everyone. Our 3500 puff BEAR + Aspire R1 disposable vapes have 24 flavours available.
  • They help people quit smoking – they’re a simple alternative to harmful cigarettes.
  • Small and lightweight – they slip straight into your pocket, perfect for travelling and nights out.
  • They’re cheap – They typically cost around £5 per disposable and will last roughly the same time as a packet of cigarettes for less than half the cost.

Make sure you know enough about disposable vapes and how they work so you can answer any questions your customers might have.

Customers that need an extra push will be more likely to buy if you can explain the benefits of the product to them and why it’s worth their money.

4. Make Sure The Price Is Right

Established retailers don’t sell disposables at discounts.

In some cases, retailers start buying discounted disposables which soon go up in price, which means they also have to adjust their price which puts off customers. This is because they are FMCG products that fluctuate in demand and often price.

Some retailers aren’t very familiar with the FMCG process that disposables depend upon. FMCG products require more frequent stock takes, and reorders and depend on good marketing to keep them moving. These are products that last a few days at most, which keep customers coming back for more or ordering more at a time. That translates to more profits for you.

Make sure you’re paying the right price with your disposable vape supplier. As the official UK distributor for Hyppe and the BEAR + Aspire R1, Eco-Vape has ultra-low prices on its disposable vapes. That means you have more margin and more profit.

We keep costs low for our customer’s thanks to our vertical integration, which allows us to cut out the middleman. Among other services, we operate a bonded warehouse, ISO 9001 warehousing and distribution facilities, in-house design teams, label design, printing, next-day dispatch, and free shipping on bulk orders over £500.

That’s why our prices are unbeatable and why we’re the official distributor for Hyppe and BEAR + Aspire products in the UK.

5. Quality Over Quantity

There’s no point in selling bad-quality disposable vapes. Poorly made devices sourced from unreliable suppliers will likely have faults, causing unhappy customers to return them to your store and be put off buying them again.

When sourcing your disposable vapes, make sure you find a supplier that you can trust, like Eco-Vape.

As the official UK distributer for Hyppe and BEAR + Aspire disposable vapes, we work to ISO 9001:2015 standards, and our facilities are assessed by Bureau Veritas, an internationally recognised and independent compliance body.
